The Palm Trees are Crooked Here

I come from Jupiter- not a planet but a town, minutes from the Atlantic, directly in between Orlando and Miami. Palm Beach is notorious for retirees that spend their Lily Pulitzer days sporting an I'm-better-than-you attitude at the Polo club with other socialites. Those that don't fall into that majority are typical beach bums, incredibly genuine but completely complacent. During the winter, the NY snowbirds come down and they can be blunt but I prefer their brutal honesty over a fake charade.  I am not so cynical that I have boiled Jupiter down to two categories. I do love my hometown and there are exceptional people I met there that are the outliers in this scenario. Nevertheless, I felt a strong desire to escape and experience something different.  Before my two years at a Florida state college, I planned to study Music Industry at the University of Southern California.
